Event Viewer
It is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in tool which resides at %windir%\system32\eventvwr.msc. For opening this snap-in file run the eventvwr.msc. command from start.
For using this console first open a command window and type mmc.exe. When the Event Viewer click file then click Add/Remove Snap-in and select Event Viewer from the snap-ins list.
Note: Here a user can also use the wevtutil command-line tool to work with event logs. The command line tool can be located at %windir%\system32\wevtutil.exe. View the help menu for getting more information about this tool.
Task Scheduler
Task Scheduler is another desktops management MMC (Microsoft Management Console) snap-in tool. It is located at %windir%\system32\taskschd.msc. Type taskschd.msc. in the command prompt for opening this tool.
For using this MMC console open a command window and type mmc.exe. When the MMC opens, click Add/ Remove Snap-in on the File menu and select Task Scheduler from the list of snap-ins.
Note: Here a user can also use the schtasks command-line tool for scheduling tasks. It is located at %windir%\system32\schtasks.exe.
